Internet of Things and Intelligent City Key Special Project is expected to be launched in 2016
Date:2019-08-09 Publisher:
"2016 International Open Internet of Things Technology and Standards Summit and W3C World Wide Internet of Things Working Group Meeting" was informed that the key project of Internet of Things and Smart City is expected to be launched this year, and "Smart City" is about to move from concept to reality.

Ministries and commissions actively promote research and development of the Internet of Things.

According to Shanghai Securities Daily, Yang Xianwu, deputy director of the High-tech Development and Industrialization Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that the Ministry of Science and Technology would continue to support the development of Internet of Things technology and industry. In the Ministry of Science and Technology's active promotion of key R&D projects, the Internet of Things and Smart City key projects are expected to be launched and implemented this year.

"Strive to make some breakthroughs in the frontier technology layout, major core technology research and other aspects, and enhance the core competitiveness of the Internet of Things technology in China." Yang Xianwu said.

According to the current policy, we will focus on organizing the advantages of industry, University and research to tackle key problems in a coordinated manner, and propose overall solutions. The implementation of this key project will greatly promote the industrialization of the Internet of Things. "This means that the evolution period from'Internet of Things'to'Internet of Things Market' will be greatly shortened. Due to the blurred boundaries of various stages of Internet of Things research and development, technology updates and results transformation will be faster." Industry insiders said.

At the meeting of the same day, officials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also expressed their view that enterprises should "escort" the development of the Internet of Things.

Luxi, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the next step would be to build an ecological system of integration and innovation of new formats such as cloud computing and big data under the guidance of the government and with enterprises as the main body. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will support the development of various Internet of Things industrial technology alliances and effectively integrate upstream and downstream collaborative innovation in the industrial chain.

Smart city will drive countless Internet plus.

Internet of Things technology will make many dreams come true. Smart city is one of the most likely concepts to be the first to enter reality.

Intelligent city is the use of information and communication technology to sense, analyze and integrate the key information of the core system of urban operation, so as to respond intelligently to various needs, including people's livelihood, environmental protection, public safety, urban services, industrial and commercial activities.

The concept of smart city entered China in 2010. By the end of 2015, the number of smart cities in China has reached 386. However, traffic congestion, air pollution, urban waterlogging and other problems are still serious, and smart cities are not wise.

Industry insiders believe that the reason why smart cities are "not smart" lies in the lack of data sharing and application between departments. For a long time, the phenomenon of "information islands" caused by "block segmentation" among departments has been serious, especially some vertical department information systems are limited to use within departments.

In this regard, Lucy said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will promote a number of integrated application solutions in the areas of industrial manufacturing, modern agriculture, smart home, health services and other consumer areas, forming a number of large-scale, characteristic data opening and sharing mechanisms.

"The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will also support leading enterprises in the fields of Internet, chip manufacturing and equipment manufacturing to carry out service operations. We will accelerate the iteration of relevant technical standards and products, mature solutions and reduce costs, and promote the large-scale development of Internet of Things applications.

With the smart city coming into reality, it will bring huge market scale.

Qiao Runling, deputy director of the reform and development center of the NDRC and small town, once said that smart city is the superposition of numerous "Internet +". Internet plus transportation, Internet + education, Internet + medical care can add up to the huge system of smart city. Therefore, the market space of smart city is huge.

Intelligent city construction needs to focus on the third platform and attach importance to intellectual property rights.

According to the People's Post and Telegraph, Huo Jinjie, president of IDC China, recently attended the ICT Forum of Smart City, saying that the market growth of China's smart cities will largely come from the exertion of the value of the third platform. At the same time, the industry should pay attention to the protection of the achievements of smart city construction and intellectual property rights.

"Cloud computing and big data in the third platform, together with the Internet of Things, will achieve rapid development in the next few years and support the growth space of China's smart city market." Huo Jinjie said.

On the one hand, the front-end Internet of Things equipment, including cameras, sensors, radio frequency identification and soldier law enforcement equipment, will usher in rapid development with the acceleration of investment and construction in the main sub-markets of Ping'an City, intelligent transportation, intelligent environmental protection and other smart cities. The annual compound growth rate of the Internet of Things market in China's smart cities will exceed 20%, significantly exceeding the average growth level of about 14% in China's smart cities market.

On the other hand, cloud computing will become an important back-end infrastructure, providing guarantee for the construction and development of smart cities in various fields. Taking government cloud as an example, more than two-thirds of China's provinces have formulated development plans for the construction of government cloud, and it is generally required to complete the transfer of government data and information to the cloud during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. From this we can foresee that the investment and construction demand for Cloud Computing in China's cities will be very strong in the next few years.

It is worth noting that the big data has also been written into the 13th Five-Year Plan as China's national strategy, and has become one of the important measures for China to cope with the new normal economic situation. In the 13th Five-Year Plan of the State, it is clearly stated that "taking big data as a basic strategic resource, we should comprehensively implement actions to promote the development of big data, speed up the sharing, opening up and development of data resources, and promote industrial transformation, upgrading and social governance."
